Projekt Capsule

Two Truths and Some Screens

Projekt Capsule

Projekt is a combination of the Malaysian and English version of the word, ‘projek’ and ‘project’. Projekt is used to give a Malaysian identity into a language that is used globally. Capsule is a structure to hold contents together. In the context of this collective, it is referred to the idea of our artwork holding together an interpretation of an individual. These two words are used because they reflect the concept of this collective.
Projekt Capsule is a collective that focuses on digital visualization, digital experimentation, and the overall digitization process, launched on 19th December 2020. The collective consists of 3 members which includes Hamim Rosidi as the digital artist, Zafree Azhar as the designer, and Hazim Rahman as the writer. The focus of the collective is to convert human beings into a digital model, labelled as ‘specimens’, and iterate several digital arts using the specimens.
We believe that with technology, a part of you will never age. A time capsule, for when you are older, you still have a younger self. You yourself and a version of you that never age. This version is your digital counterpart. This part of you will live on when the rest of you moved on.
